Vacuum cleaners are one of the appliances that can make a large difference to every household. They are meant to clean every side and areas in our homes. Using it often may lead to some problems. Vacuum repair may be cheaper than buying new ones since vacuum cleaners nowadays are expensive.
After prolong use, vacuum cleaners may stop operating. We need to have it check by an expert or we can troubleshoot ourselves. Common problems that occurs and hoe to solve them:
• The Vacuum has a foul odor- Change bag or wash it out.
• The power brush of the vacuum is going on then off repeatedly-There is probably an electrical short somewhere along the line. Contact a repair man on this one.
• The vacuum seems to be on but nothing is picking up- There is either a clog or a broken belt. It may also need a replacement of the bag.
• Poor suctions- Replace bag or filters then check for clogs.
• Doesn’t turn on- There is a possible electrical problem, change the plug or check the prongs if there are some loose.
Vacuum cleaners need some breaks also. After a long use, give it time to breath. Also it needs some maintenance and clean up.
Here are some proper vacuum maintenance:
• Replace bags when they are almost full.
• Clean out the bag cavity one in a while when you are replacing your bag to keep the inside of the vacuum clean.
• Flat rubber belts should be replaced every 6 months.
• Cog belts only need to be replaced when broken, avg. life is 3 years.
• Pet owners, keep bottom plate free from pet dander.
• Replace filters annually, and replace HEPA filters every 6-8 months
• Cut strings, hair and other debris off the brush roller with a knife
Maintaining a vacuum cleaner is not that hard. All they need is a little clean over there, a check up right here. Vacuum cleaners average life is 3-5 yrs depending on ones use. Therefore if we want to use it for a long period of time, we should know how to take care of it.
